Grow Tips & Strain History

Reasons That Purple Caper Rx Seeds Are Superior

  • There are many reasons but most important is the Fathers. We take the best clones that we can find, and create, and then make a male version for breeding.
  • Father selection is very important. All fathers are best of 50 of that strain. We then Back Cross it to the best clone multiple times for purity, each time choosing the best of 50.
  • Purple Caper Fathers are bred to improve the females’ genetics, so the seeds will be better than the mother.
  • If you like a particular strain then try it crossed with a Purple Caper Father.
  • Once you try the seeds you will see the difference in vigor, potency, yield, smell, and flavor!

Common Seed Questions Answered

Q. 1 - Why are Purple Caper Seeds Rx. different? I have never heard of some of the strains before.Q. 2 - Are Seeds better than clones?Q. 3 - Are seeds for beginners?Q. 4 - What is the difference from an F1 and an F4?Q. 5 - What is a Phenotype?Q. 6 - How many seeds should I plant for professional results?Q. 7 - What If I Have More Questions?
Purple Caper Seeds are grown with the patient in mind. There are 100 seeds sprouted on each batch a mix of Californian, Dutch, and Canadian mostly. The strongest are chosen, “Last time it was 3 males and 2 females”. These strict standards are met to ensure the strongest offspring. Once the Best are chosen they are crossed with all of the best local strains found in Northern California.
Seeds will yield better than clones, and make better mother plants, and they are only way to get a phenotype which no one else has. However If you do not remove males it could ruin your whole crop. Which is why it is easier to use clones.
Yes they are, but beginners should grow clones with them so that they can distinguish a male or hermaphrodite from a female. Probably try a couple the first time along with some clones to get familiar.
An F1 is a first time cross of two different strains. This is what creates an F1 strain. These are the most vigorous and have the most variation between plants. An F2 is a male F1 seedling crossed with another F1 seedling of the same strain. Some of these will be more stable while others not as stable or vigorous as the F1, but some are, also some may take after grandparents.. F4 is the most stable and is created by crossing the F2 andF3 back to the same female from the F1 batch. These are around 85% homogenous.
A Phenotype is the characteristics of an offspring. When you cross two plants say a Short dense indica with a slender sweet smelling sativa you will get many Phenotypes. Some will be large and dense like the indica with a sweet sativa smell and taste. This is one Phenotype. Others will be slender like the sativa and short like the indica. I have seen many distinct Phenotypes from one cross, that is why only the strongest should be kept.
I would plant 10-20 to find an exceptional female with all the best qualities that does the best in your garden. Take this and mother this and you now have an exclusive phenotype of this strain that you know no one else has. These websites that sell 1 seed is a big reason why sometimes you receive weak clones. If they only sprout 1 seed yes they do have the strain, but it may be a weak phenotype, and should not have been cloned.

Germination Technique for Professional Results

Show Me!

There are many germination methods. All work well. This technique if done correctly should achieve almost 100% germination. Always germinate indoors. Room temperature around 75 degrees is optimal. Use bottled drinking water at room temperature, not cold or hot. It is best to keep bottled water indoors at room temperature for 24 hours before use.

  • Fill a clean shot glass half full with room temperature drinking water and add seeds.
  • Place shot glass indoors in a dark place like a top shelf in a closet for 8-24 hours and No longer.
  • After soak, place seeds in a seed starting kit, and follow instructions on package and moisten with bottled water. I recommend grow sponges.
  • Keep at room temperature in dark for 24-48 hours. Next place indoors under a light until ready for transplant.

Happy Growing!

Purple Caper Strain History

The Purple Caper has been growing in California for over 20 years indoors and outdoors. We are known for the best fathers in the Bay Area and Central Valley. There is an abundance of Landrace, Heirloom, and Designer Strains here in California. We collect these from the most prestigious clubs and growers in the area. We then pollinate the best of the best with our best of 50 or better pedigree fathers for world class results. We specialize in designer strains with the biggest yields and highest quality.
The first two successful strains created were the #1K and Chocolope Cheese. These are legends in California for the outdoor growers. The #1K is a pure sativa crossed with a New Purple Power father. There is a father selected and backcrossed for purity. The female released is a very reliable plant and is the favorite of outdoor masters. #1K phenotypes include The Stinky Armpit, Special K, and Green Fire. Chocolope Cheese is also famous here for tremendous outdoor topshelf yields. There is a father selected and backcrossed. There was also two females selected, both over a lb yield, a Sativa and an Indica phenotype, both amazing.

Next was an imported male from Amsterdam. A pure Snow White was selected and backcrossed for purity best of 50 male then selected. These offspring work indoor and outdoor, and created legends like Chocolate Snow, White Grapes, White Chocolate, Snow Dream, and Yetti. Then introduced Purple Caper, which had been alive for several years, but not released. It is a cross of (Grandad Purple x Diesel) x (White Widow x Pure Indica). There is a father selected and backcrossed for purity. There is also 4 female phenotypes. Purple Caper (best medicinal pheno). Fire Lady (Highest THC/ Darkest purple pheno). Rocket Science (Best indoor pheno). Rocket Science XL (Best Outdoor pheno). Offspring of the Purple Caper male grow best outdoor and smell amazing like tropical Fruit and are covered with crystals.
Chocolate Kush is next. This is a cross of the famous Chocolope Cheese male crossed with a pure Moroccan Hash Plant. Then backcrossed for purity. This supersedes the Chocolope Cheese male . Amazing Sweet Kush! CottonCandy BubbleGum, A cross of two classics bred in an outdoor project for maximum results outdoors. This male throws truly amazing offspring. Girl Scout Cookie, Fire Lady, and River are new strains available here in California released in 2014. Still very rare only available at the best clubs.
